Our service was established in 1987 and is funded through the Federal and State Governments as part of the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program.

The project is incorporated as an Association and is managed by a voluntary Board drawn from a diverse section of the community.

HACC funds wages and on-costs while the Department of Health provides funding for health related transport.

Passengers’ fares are essential to cover vehicle running costs.

As an accredited transport service we have three wheelchair modified buses and a Toyota Hi-Ace Van, all with additional steps fitted to allow for easy access.

A station wagon is available to provide individual transport for people who have social and/or health-related transport needs and are unable to use regular transport due to disability and/or geographic isolation.

Due to financial constraints referral to other transport agencies within the local government areas is available as necessary.

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community Transport is a non-profit organisation. Any surplus (when it exists) is put back into improving service.

Governance

The Board of the Association is committed to sound corporate governance and publishes a Governance Statement detailing its approaches to governance aligned to the 8 Principles of the ASX Best Practice Recommendations. You may read our Governance Statement on our Documents Page.
