The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community Transport Board of Directors farewelled Helen Crouch at the June Board Meeting. Helen’s final day at our organisation will be this 4th July. She will be missed for her experience and knowledge. Helen’s contributions to community service across the Northern Sydney region have been invaluable.
She leaves a hole that will be difficult to fill but we wish Helen all the best in her upcoming adventures. The organisation welcomes its new general manager, Ms Tara Russell. Working in home and community care for 12 years, Tara’s most recent role was as CEO of the Community Transport Peak Body. She brings a passion for how supported and accessible transport enhances the quality of life for individuals—and our community. Tara is excited to be part of an organisation essential to helping people stay connected, active and independent.
Aged Care Reform: What You Can Expect You may know the new Aged Care Act will commence on 1 November 2025 to give older Australians more choice, respect and transparency in the services they receive, including transport. Key changes include: Greater focus on individual goals—what matters most to you; Stronger consumer protections and clearer service standards; Enhanced recognition of the voices of older people in shaping the system. At HKCT, we’re preparing for these changes to assist with what they mean for you.
Updating Our Booking System We’re rolling out new software to enhance your bookings and improve our service. In the next couple of weeks we might ask for a bit of extra information when you call and need a little longer to input your booking or to answer questions. We really appreciate your patience as we get up to speed!
Have a question about our new system, aged care reforms or our services? Don’t hesitate to email: [email protected] or call us.
